While we see that the internet is busy with what the ‘m’ in Android M would stand for when it launches, the South Korean giant, Samsung has revealed some details on the features that the upcoming OS would be bringing to the Samsung Galaxy devices.
The features that Samsung revealed include the OS cover device management solutions and better fingerprint access integration and much more.
Now most of the key Android M features that Google had revealed at its I/O conference earlier this year were mentioned by Samsung as well on its blog post. The Android M would be bringing a new memory tab that will offer the users the information as to which apps are using the most memory on the handset and will even tell how frequently they are running.
Apart from this the new Android M will provide quick access for its users and not only to lock or unlock handsets but also to approve app purchases on Google Play.
Moreover the Android M also has auto backup. This feature is for those users who are worried about losing their data while switching or formatting their handsets. The auto backup feature would back up the app user data and settings on the user’s Google Drive account.
Apart from these features Samsung has stated that the Galaxy users will also enjoy longer battery life due to better battery management tools. The Android M will activate a feature called Doze Mode when the smartphones will be on standby mode. This Doze Mode will cut down the background process in order to minimize battery consumption.
Moreover Samsung has not yet given details as to which of its handsets would be receiving the Android M update. However the obvious devices that will receive the update include the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 4 Duos and Galaxy Note Edge.
