Galaxy Tab S2 Now Runs On Android Marshmallow

399273-screenBefore you get excited and browse to the update section of your Galaxy Tab S2, I want to inform the readers  that the update is only available for the unlocked models of the Tab S2 with the 9.7 screen size that also has the 4G LTE support. We are seeing that a lot of Samsung devices are being updated to the Android Marshmallow and I am happy that a tablet is getting the update instead of a smartphone.

It has been more than 8 months since Android marshmallow is available and finally we are seeing the update being pushed to the device. the younger sibling, the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, and the regular 9.7 Wi-Fi only model is due for the update sooner than later. But as of now, the Marshmallow (Android 6.0.1) is only available for the device with T815 iteration of the Tablet.

Germany is the first country to get the update where unlocked models are sold and other regions will follow suit. The build number will be T815XXU2BPD6 after the update.

The Marshmallow brings with it new features such as now on tap, Doze Mode, new permissions, new emoji, and improved quick settings toggles and multiple user accounts that will help in safeguarding your private data from the prying eyes of a relative or a friend.

Samsung has also cooked in the April security patch into this update.

The overall design is set for a major overhaul and the Tablet’s interface is now in sync with the Galaxy S6 and S7. Samsung has also put in some of its own features such as

  • New snapshot feature
  • Redesigned notification panel
  • Advance feature section
  • Smart manager in the settings app
  • Ability to include adoptable storage

If you have the update, let us know how it looks and functions in the comment section below.
