[Update] Galaxy Note 7 Battery Issue – Samsung Drops Battery Supplier

Galaxy Note 7 Battery Burn
Samsung officially confirmed that it will stop using batteries from Samsung SDI, it’s own battery production unit.

“As a follow-up of the battery issue, we decided to temporally stop using Samsung SDI’s battery for Galaxy Note 7,” said sources from Samsung Electronics.

Samsung SDI is the major supplier for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 batteries. 70% of the Galaxy Note 7 batteries are from Samsung SDI and 30 % from Chinese battery maker ATL.

After this series of unfortunate battery problems, Samsung will most likely use ATL batteries. With this decision Samsung SDI stock prices are 2.76 percent down and we are hoping it will even go down some more.

Samsung is also going to bleed around $1 billion to recall all the 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 units.

Are you using a Galaxy Note 7? If yes, it is time to replace and get a Galaxy S7 Edge, for the time being.
