This year all the flagship smartphones have suffered as they all were launched with the Android 5.0 Lollipop and so have suffered from battery life.

Now we saw that everyone was quick to blame the relatively small batteries on the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6 for the bad endurance.

However we saw that the smartphones with bigger batteries like the LG G4 or Asus Zenfone 2 have also suffered the same issue.

So there is only one thing common in all these smartphones that is the Android 5.0 lollipop.

Even the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge did not improve the battery life of the devices but the recent experience with Samsung devices that are running the Android 5.1.1 out of the box has been very positive.

We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy A8 and the Galaxy J5. Both these Samsung devices have displayed impressive endurance both during use and in idle state.

Neither phone takes more than 2 or 4 percent of charge when left idle overnight. Plus we did not use Samsung’s inbuilt power saving modes for getting such good results.

Moreover the phones enter the standard power saving mode on their own after reaching 15 percent charge.

This isn’t something new because when a new version of an operating system is launched it is either too complex or poorly developed and so manufacturers don’t have time to properly implement in on their new devices.

Lollipop is one such version of Android but it now looks as if the new smartphones with the Android 5.1.1 out of the box have somehow managed to fix a major nuisance.

The latest device by Samsung, the Galaxy Note 5 is a testimony to this as the device has ousted its predecessor in battery tests despite having a smaller battery.
