Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 Wi-Fi Variant Gets Android 5.1.1 in South Korea

The Android 5.1.1 seems to be rolling out in force to nearly all the Samsung devices. The update has been rolled out for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in India today and now it seems that the update is making its way to the Wi-Fi variant of the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 over in South Korea.

This isn’t going to be the first time that the Tab 4 8.0 is getting the update as previously the LTE variant of the tablet was updated last week.

The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is notable because it is the only Samsung device that has been able to make a jump from Android 4.4 to 5.1.1 directly skipping all the other version of the Lollipop.

With this new update the users of the Tab 4 will experience a number of new features. These features will include an updated user’s interface, performance improvements, better notifications along with the boasting rights that come with running the latest version of the OS ahead of most Samsung flagship smartphones and tablets.

Well up till now the update has only been available in South Korea but it is being said that the update will be available in other parts of the world pretty soon.

The OTA should by now show up on your devices but if it hasn’t then you can go to Settings and then to about device and then to software updates.
