We had come to know about Samsung’s flip phone SM-G9198 way back in May and we knew that it would be powered by Snapdragon 808 processor and it is not a Galaxy mini of any sort like many people had speculated. Instead the SM-G9198 is a flip phone that is said to be launched in China very soon.

This new flip phone has been approved by China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center also known as TEENA.

The new phone is said to sport two 3.91 inch AMOLED displays with 768 x 1280 pixels and will be running the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The phone is also quite heavy as it weighs around 191 grams and measures 119.7 x 66.6 x 16.7 mm.

On the back of the phone is a 16MP camera with LED flash while its front facing camera is a 5MP one.

Inside the phone is the six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and is clocked at 1.8 GHz.

Other features of this flip include the LTE connectivity and 16GB of internal memory that can be enhanced by a microSD card.

The SM-G9198 basically seems to be the successor to the Samsung SM-G9098 which is an Android based flip phone that was released last year in China.

Moreover this new phone is alos believed to be only China centric since clamshell smartphones are no longer popular in other parts of the world.
