The phone has been rumoured for long but Samsung has finally shown us the rugged version of its latest and greatest flagship. The Galaxy S7 active is a phone that we hoped would be and some more. unlike the previous entrants of the active series, this phone comes with a fingerprint sensor for added security and of course!! Samsung Pay.
But those aren’t the most important things in the handset. The S7 active now comes with a mammoth 4000 mAh battery that can keep the phone alive for two full days on moderate usage. I am not getting into the specs as they are identical to the regular Galaxy S7.
The regular phone has an IP68 rating for dust and waterproofing. So why does one need an active version of the phone?
As I mentioned, the phone comes with a big battery but also has military grade body as well as shatter resistance display. The active phone doesn’t have the same beautiful glass and metal design of the regular phone but it does come with some practical features that make it a favourite among the hikers, surfers and the adventurist who like to take their phone into the cruel outside world.
The physical home button stays. But the additional menu and back button is like taking a trip into the past and that’s a good thing. The body design of the phone similar to the last year’s version and the overall phone is like a souped up version of the normal Galaxy S7.
All these come at a cost, though. The phone is exclusive to AT&T and cost a staggering $795.
But if you want a phone that knows how to take a beating and survive, then you better opt for the Galaxy S7 active.
