Samsung has introduced us to the latest phone in its A-series. The A3, A5 and A7 impressed us with their unibody metal design. They look like the note 5 for almost half the price. The A5 and A7 also have a fingerprint scanner and Samsung pay enabled. Now all eyes were set on the next generation of the galaxy A8.
Samsung surprised everyone by releasing the A8 in japan. Upon deeper dwelling, it was found that the introduced A8 isn’t the new generation phone which we were waiting but rather the existing A8 has been slightly modified to suit the Japanese users better.
The international version used the snapdragon 615 coupled with 2 GB of ram and 32 GB of internal memory. The Japanese A8 matched every spec of the international version except for the SOC. Samsung made use of its home-grown exynos 5433 SOC.
The galaxy A8 has a beautiful 5.7 inch super AMOLED display. There is a 16 MP camera on the front and 5 MP on the back. Samsungrumours reviewed the international version and found its design better than the galaxy s6. Cat.6 LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS/ BDS (market dependant) are offered on the connectivity side. Samsung also made available the VoLTE and WiMAX 2+.
On the bright side, Samsung built an expandable storage slot for the microSD card up to 128 GB capacity. The phone is 6 mm thin making it more compact than the iPhone. It is surprising that Samsung was able to fit a battery of 3050 mAh that can run the show for quite a bit of time. there is a fingerprint sensor for security purposes but Samsung pay isn’t supported as of now.
The prices are unknown and the phone comes in white, black and gold colour.
