Samsung has a new plan to reignite its growth engine and increase the sales momentum of its smartphone. in order to compete with the iPhone in the high end segment and offer phones that have more value for money so as to keep the Chinese manufactures from cannibalizing its sales, Samsung is considering the option of reducing the price of its next superphone, the galaxy s7.
But how much will the price be reduced?
Well it depends. Samsung is exploring option to reduce the launch price by $50 to $100 subjected to the memory capacity of the handset. That would make the upcoming superphone in the galaxy s-series 10 to 20% less expensive than galaxy s6 when it was introduced.
But Samsung also realizes that by simply reducing the launch price of the superphone and upgrading the internals such as including more processing power and gigabytes of ram will not excite the consumer anymore. To once again capture the heart of the phone buyers, Samsung plans to include some exciting tech such as the most promising camera ever seen in a smartphone and iPhone’s 3d touch like technology.
With beastly specs coupled with right price tag, Samsung is set to dominate the smartphone industry like it did a couple of years ago. This isn’t entirely new for the Korean conglomerate either, Samsung’s vice chairman for the electronic division, kwon oh-hyun has earlier indicated that the television, smartphone and other products are subjected to slow growth rate owing to stagnation in their respective industry. He also had a warning instore. “If we resist changes, then we won’t survive.”
Except apple, literally every other smartphone manufacturing company has seen decline in sales as well as profits. Companies such as Sony, HTC and Lenovo lost money in tunes of million and are on the verge of shutting shop.
Samsung hopes that this tactic will keep the Chinese manufactures of its back and set the company on the profit growth path once again. it also hopes to sell the superphone s7 in millions with the reduced price tag.
