All of the scandal started back in December, and since then the National Assembly of Korea voted for impeachment process. After 92 days, the verdict went out as the court dismissed insufficient evidence about the charges.
As the center of the attention, and main reason behind all of the scandal, Samsung’s heir Lee Jae-yong got arrested. He was accused for all of the corruption scandals which includes bribery and embezzlement, and in addition the South Korean president added that he made a betrayal.
Lee got arrested earlier this month, for bribing Park and Choi, which includes giving $2 million to Choi’s daughter. In return, Park helped by merging two of Samsung’s affiliates. Park is now officially found guilty over all of that bribery charges, and things are now not looking pretty good.
Lee’s charges are expected to last for a few months, and he is sitting as vice chairman of Samsung. We are still not sure for his position in near future, as for now we have to wait for his next hearing in court.
