Last year Samsung joined the Beta testing club with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Then the beta test was on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the testers got the update much before the official release. Now, the Korean tech giant is beta testing the Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 line up.

Samsung is only making the transition of porting Nougat on the S7 faster, because the Galaxy Note 7 is out of the market.

In order to get the update, users will have to download the Galaxy Beta Program app from the Galaxy Apps store on their device in order to register for the beta program. However, Samsung will pick whether or not you will get the update. Right now, the beta registration is not working but it should be up when Samsung makes an official statement.

For those who can’t find the Galaxy Beta Program app in the store, there is an APK for the app and it’s available online. A quick search will find plenty download links. But, remember that if you register, that doesn’t mean you will be selected to get the update.
