Samsung released its first Tizen based smartphone, the Samsung Z1 sometime back in India. Reportedly Samsung is quite happy with the response from the Indian market. As a result of this the Korean company is planning to manufacture the phone at its Noida (India) plant soon.
“The compelling proposition of an easy to use and clutter free interface (of Z1), along with premium design has met wide consumer acceptance… The Z1 will be manufactured in company’s Noida plant in UP,” Samsung India Vice President Marketing Asim Warsi told to Economics Times.
Warsi also revealed that Samsung already has plans to launch the phone in Bangladesh as well.
Samsung Z1 is one of the most affordable smartphone available in the market right now. The phone features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 768 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB. It also has a 3.1 MP rear camera and VGA front camera. The phone is powered by Tizen OS.
To make the phone more attractive, Samsung packed the phone with many local apps. Samsung Z1 costs Rs 5,700 ($90) in India.
