Samsung applied for a trademarks called as duo pixel recently and rumours indicated that this is a new technology that will show itself in the galaxy s7 and s7 edge. Details are still scares about this technology but some guesses are doing rounds.

The duo pixel may refer to the dual camera setup that was rumoured to be fitted into the s7 smartphone. There could be a main camera and a secondary camera that will measure the depth of the field greatly enhancing the image taken. This sensor is similar to the HTC one m8 dual camera setup.

Samsung also recently introduced the britecell technology. This proprietary technology replaced the green pixel with a white pixel. The result was a great picture taken even in dim light setting. It is also possible that Samsung is just rechristening the britecell tech with the term “Duo Pixel”.

Allegedly, the galaxy s7 will feature a 12 MP sensor with dual photodiode technology. Yes, the s6 has a 16 MP camera but the megapixel count is not the final parameter for measuring the camera quality. That exactly what the iPhone does. Despite have a 12 MP camera module, the iPhone 6s has one of the best cameras around.

And Samsung is preparing to produce this duo pixel camera modules just to make it available for the time for mass production of the galaxy s7. Whatever might be the developments, it is highly likely that the camera on the next superphone from Samsung will be a beast that would be hard to beat.
