Only days after the launch of Samsung’s two new smartphones, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+, the South Korean giant has launched the Galaxy S6 Edge+ in India.
The smartphone has been priced at Rs 57,900. The smartphone will be available in two colors, gold and silver, starting from 28th August. Apart from this only the 32GB storage variant will be made available in India.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ features a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display along with a dual edge screen which has extended curved displays on the edges.
The device is being powered by none other than Samsung’s own Exynos octa core 64 bit chip and 4GB of RAM. The device will have no microSD slot which means that the Indian users will have to deal with the 32GB storage option.
The new smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with a new upgraded version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI layer. The device also utilizes the edge displays by offering users features such as ‘Apps edge’ which basically provides easy access to the user’s favorite applications.
Apart from this feature there is ‘people edge’ which is for easy communication with preferred contacts. Moreover the Galaxy S6 Edge+ also comes with a 16Mo rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization and a 5MP front facing camera.
Under its hood the device has a 3000mAh battery that supports fast charging and wireless charging as well.
Now coming to the connectivity side of the device it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, USB 2.0, NFC, ANT+, GPS/GLONASS and 4G LTE Cat.9 / LTE Cat.6 options.
Plus the device comes with a fingerprint sensor and even a heart rate monitor. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ also comes with improved video capabilities including Steady Video which basically provides Video Digital Image stabilization on both the front and rear cameras.
There is also a Video Collage Mode which will allow the users to record and edit short videos easily in various frames and effects.
Apart from this the device also has 4K video filming and Live Broadcast which lets the users to instantly live stream Full HD video straight from the device to an individual.
