samsung-galaxy-s6-active-8989All the tech world has been heaping praises on the Galaxy S7 while I pondered whether Samsung will ever release the S7 active version of the latest flagship. Rumours came out that the S7 mini was about to be unveiled with top end specs but in a compact body frame. I waited, still there was no news about the active variant.

Suddenly, a thought struck me. Samsung already showed us the active variant of the flagship. It was always in front of my eyes. “The normal Galaxy S7 is the active variant.”

I want to confirm that my mental state is absolutely fine. Let me clarify myself. I am a huge fan of the active versions of the S-series of Galaxy phones. In fact, The Galaxy S6 active is one of the all-time favourite phones that I have owned to date.

The active series were famous for their durability, water resistance and were dust proof. But the problem was that they were very bulky and had no fingerprint sensor. Here’s where Samsung showed its brilliance. Making the normal Galaxy S7 dust and water proof, it turned the normal variant into an active version. Yes, the phone’s body is still vulnerable with glass on the front and the back.

But seldom do you see people with their naked phones. Almost everyone covers their phone with some kind of protective case. Encasing the phone with a tough armour and we have a Galaxy S7 that is strong, endures the wear and tear of daily life and bears the impact of occasional drops.

But the screen can always be cracked if the phone falls with the wrong angle. Yet there is a solution, and that’s the temper screen glass protector. These are shock absorbent, usually shatter proof and protect the phone’s display glass with their life.

So, the normal Galaxy S7 with a tough armour case and a tempered glass is the Galaxy S7 active. If Samsung still chooses to release the active variant, I am expecting no less than something that can beat the Moto X-Force that is famous for its shatterproof display.
