Just four months after Samsung released its flagship smartphones the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge they have gotten a permanent discount.
This price drop has debuted in the Netherlands with the 32GB Samsung Galaxy S6 selling for €599.00 and the 32GB Galaxy S6 Edge selling for €699.00. This means there is a drop of €100.
The price drop comes just days after the South Korean giant published its second quarter earnings and had stated that it will reduce the price of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in order to increase sales.
Moreover there is no word on when will the price drop be introduced to the other markets.
Originally the Samsung Galaxy S6 had been launched at €699, while the Galaxy S6 Edge had been launched at €799.
Now analysts have predicted that the devices will have shipped 45 million units by the end of the year even though the original sales prediction was about 70 million units.
As Samsung tries to save the current Galaxy S smartphones the company is also looking to launch two new devices on 13th of August.
Samsung will be introducing the Galaxy S6 Edge+ along with the Note 5. Plus the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be introduced at a price of €799 and that is why the price of the current Galaxy S series has been lowered.
The new device is said to be a phablet said to have a 5.7 inch display. The release of these two new devices is much before the traditional release dates that Samsung follows and many analysts stat that this is in order to beat the competition from Apple’s iPhone.
