Samsung sent out the invitation for its device launch event tomorrow to unveil the Gear S2 and probably few new smartphones. The launch even comes at a time of dushera and Diwali, the holiday season of India and Samsung is leaving no stone unturned to make the consumers buy its devices this holiday season. The Gear S2 will be one among the devices that will be unveiled.
This event invitation that read as “the next level of innovation is here” offering absolutely no clue about the devices that will be unveiled. But according to the rumours, Samsung will launch the long overdue Gear S2, the first true smartwatch from Samsung that rivals the apple watch in terms of design, specs and functionality. There will be three variants of the smartwatch. The Gear S2, Gear S2 3g, Gear S2 classic. The Gear S2 3g can act as a stand-alone device and doesn’t need a smartphone to work. It can make calls, send text messages and emails as well as track fitness parameters such as heartrate and number of steps taken.
The other rumoured device to be showcased is the galaxy grand on. India is a typical market for Samsung. It depends mainly on the low end and mid-ranged devices for it market leader position. another device that could be shown is the next generation of the galaxy mega. The timing is critical for Samsung. This period of the year is the most attractive time in Indian market and consumers buy loads of tech products. To cash in on the crazy, apple is releasing the iPhone 6s and 6s plus in a few days and google has also brought the newest nexus 6p and nexus 5x to the Indian shores. Samsung faces a stiff competition from low cost handset manufacturers such as xaomi and micromax.
