The next flavour in the android os world is the android marshmallow which is the v6.0. Now google is still in the beta stage of the development process of the mobile operating system. But that hasn’t stopped Samsung from stating that most of its devices will receive the marshmallow updates within a few month of google releasing the final code to the OEM.

The list of devices that will receive the marshmallow updates are as follows.

- Samsung Galaxy Note 5
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+
- Samsung Galaxy S6
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
- Samsung Galaxy Note 4
- Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Duos
- Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
- Samsung Galaxy ALPHA
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A

Now most of the Samsung devices run on 5.0 of 5.1.1. As part of the tradition, Samsung won’t release the updates for all the devices at a time. It will update the devices in a phased manner with the latest device getting the highest priority.

It means that you can expect the marshmallow update on note 5 and galaxy s6 edge+ first, then on the tab s2 followed by the galaxy s6 and s6 edge.

Google is scheduled to release the marshmallow update by the end of September accompanied by the launch of the new nexus 6 and nexus 5 devices that comes with a native finger print scanner. But Samsung will have to modify the os based on its own custom touchwiz bloatware that sets itself apart from the sea of similar looking android devices. This process will take some time and since the marshmallow updates is not that big, tech experts say that the updates should be available with a couple of month of releasing the final code of the update. Follow the link to see what’s new in the marshmallow update.
