The Samsung’s Group’s Vice Chairman and heir, Jay Y. Lee’s trial has just started. The trial started on Thursday, and according to his lawyers, they say that Lee denied all of his charges that are against him. He is accused for bribery and embezzlement of corporate funds, and as well there are several other violations related to an influence-peddling scandal. Lee got arrested in February at Seoul Detention Center. The first hearing has already passed, and about the second one, it should start from next week, where Lee is expected to attend that one.

The prosecution though still doesn’t have perfect solid case against Lee. While the trial is up, in a name of defense for Lee, he will try to prove how the evidence is either circumstantial or wasn’t obtained at all as a legitimate manner. The prosecution also say that the donations were used as bribes back in 2015. The bribe is said that it is paid by Lee himself, and it hits both Samsung Electronics and Cheil Industries.

Lee’s trial is for now, expected to be finished in late May, but the court is not thinking that this will go easy. Updates from the situation is expected to follow next week.
