So what is VoLTE?
VoLTE or Voice Over LTE is the next generation mobile voice call service. Using VoLTE you can call in HD quality. Traditionally when you start a voice call over LTE network you are redirected to an older mobile technology like 3G or 2G to start the call. Though this works the big problem is that as long as you are in the call you will have bad data quality.
VoLTE solves this issue as you can do voice call in LTE’s all IP network. So VoLTE is just like Voice Over IP (VOIP) calls but instead of WiFi it works on cellular network.
Do you need to download separate App to do VoLTE Call?
You do not need to download any App for VoLTE calls. As a user you just need to call like you used to call, i.e from phone menu in your Galaxy S5.
