Samsung will start pushing Android KitKat 4.4 update to all AT&T Galaxy S3 smartphoes staring from today.
Earlier this year Samsung brought Android KitKat update to most high-end smartphones which include Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy Note 3. But as Samsung Galaxy S3 has relatively older hardware, Samsung took it’s time to test and provide KitKat for the phone.
So starting from today all AT&T Galaxy S3 users can download and install KitKat on their phones and this will bump the phone’s software version to I747UCUFNE4. There are tons of new features come with Android KitKat such as new Lock Screen access, enhanced media controls that feature full-screen album art, the ability to access the Camera application directly from the lock screen itself, an SMS App Chooser, restyled Status and Navigation bars, the change to DriveMode from AT&T Drive Mode, pre-loaded “Beat Music”, a Unified Location Menu, expanded emoji icons, wireless printing support, copy and paste improvements, inline editing in emails, among others.
Samsung also fixed many bugs which can enhance the performance of Galaxy S3. If you already got the software update notification consider yourself the lucky one and if you have not then you may need to wait some more time. But you can always check manually for software updates going into the phone menu Settings > More > About device > Software update.
Samsung promised earlier this year that they will bring KitKat update to Galaxy S3 and it looks like they are keeping that promise.
