You might be tied of these rumours but yet another leak comes suggesting that Samsung has finalised the snapdragon 820 chipset for their next superphone, the galaxy s7. These reports come from an internal trusted source that has earlier leaked the testing results of the mysterious Samsung phone with the snapdragon 820 called as project lucky.
When the reports came in last year that the snapdragon 810 is prone to overheating making the phone uncomfortably hot, Samsung has dropped the chipset infavor of its own exynos line of chipset, the 7420. It gave Samsung an excellent opportunity to showcase its wares in the smartphone processor segment and I must say that I was pretty surprised. Samsung could survive without the QUALCOMM chipsets and the testing results show that the s6 was no slow couch. It gave the snapdragon 810 enabled phones a run for their money.
But with these latest reports, we might confirm that the snapdragon 820 has no overheating issues or as a matter of fact any other troubling issues since Samsung has decided to use it in its smartphone.
But do not expect the galaxy s7 to have the snapdragon 820 in every region that it is available. Samsung has a habit of including the snapdragon latest chipset in its main markets and its own exynos processor in other markets. The reports suggest that the 820 enable galaxy s7 will only be available in the u.s and china and the other markets will have an s7 powered by the sequel generation of exynos 7420 chipset.
That is not at all a bad thing considering the power that exynos chipsets are bringing to the table compared to the snapdragon counterparts. All that is to be seen is that how the two different s7 perform in the real world condition testing and will Samsung lock each another processing power to make them equal in performance parameters?
That will only be known once the phone releases.
