With Google working on their next iteration of Google Glass, various OEMs including Samsung are working on continued development of VR headsets and other glass like wearables.

Apart from this Microsoft is also busy working on the development of its much anticipated HoloLens. Well it seems that Samsung is also interested in developing a pair of glasses to take on the HoloLens unit that sports some of the same features along with some other new and impressive specifications.

This new unit is being referred to as ‘wearable display apparatus’ by Samsung for the time being. It is being stated that the unit will be equipped with augmented reality/Holograph technology as well as 3D cameras and displays.

These will be similar just like that found Google Glass. Due to the innovative technology that Samsung is using on this new headset the users can move around freely unlike when a user might be wearing Samsung’s Gear VR virtual reality headset.

Apart from that the display is to be holographic just like Microsoft’s HoloLens. This will basically allow the wearer to see what is being display to them and also other things in the real world like the surrounding environment.

Moreover the South Korean giant is also using numerous ways for the user to control the content on the headset both by speech and by the use of an equipped touch sensitive pad.

The pad is said to be similar to what has been employed on the Samsung Gear VR. Gesture controls are also said to be added to the new headset and there is a slight possibility that Samsung might also add Bluetooth controls.

Up till now there are no details on when the company will launch this headset but it seems that the device is still in early stage.
