Samsung has been introducing cutting-edge technologies for the past decade in the smartphone industry. In the recent years, smartphones and gadgets are being used more and more for fitness purposes. Nowadays, smartphones have the ability to measure heart beat rate, blood pressure, and other health metrics related to our lifestyle.
However, recently, we have been reported that Samsung is looking forward to introduce a smartphone that can measure body fat. This has been made possible for the first time to invent a gadget that can measure body fat. According to the report, Samsung has confirmed a patent, which will allow it to place four sensors underneath the screen. These sensors will be able to measure body fat, when a hand is placed on to them.
The sensors work on the principle of electric impedance. One sensor inputs a predetermined amount of current to the connected object, which is hand, in this case. The second sensor measures the output of electric current from the other hand. If the ratio of input current to output current is low, it means that the body fat is high; while, if the input current to output current ratio is high, then it means that body fat is low.
Samsung has integrated the principle of electric impedance, and the conductivity of body fat, into a groundbreaking technology that aids to enhancing our lifestyles. Samsung has set a great example of integrating scientific principles to introduce new technologies, which can improve our lifestyles.
