Samsung’s love for stylus seems to have gone a level up. The tech innovator is reportedly working on a new version of its c-pen stylus. Samsung usually had two versions of styluses in the past. The s-pen that is exclusive to the Note series of the Galaxy phones and the other is the c-pen which could be used with other devices. This is Samsung version of universal styluses.
Recently, news broke out that google is planning to bring native stylus support to the next major version of its mobile operating system, codenamed Android N. styluses were popular in the pre-iPhone era but with the advent of the touchscreen, it was just Samsung that backed the stylus.
But now the styluses are back in the town and every manufacturer is developing one of their own. Apple has the Apple pencil; Microsoft has the surface pen.
The newest version of the c-pen has Bluetooth built into it and works with the TabPro S, Samsung’s windows powered tablet that was unveiled at the CES 2016.
The pen type device will have a monstrous 162 hours of battery life. This duration will vary based on the functions performed with the device. the c-pen will connect via Bluetooth 4.0 LE and can detect 1024 levels of pressure. That seems impressive but the s-pen offers 2048 levels of pressure detection.
Even though the device is intended for the TabPro S, this stylus can be used with all the Android devices for enhanced productivity. The c-pen also has 2 dedicated buttons that perform erase and back functions. it will have lots of other features added once Android N powered devices hit the market.
This stylus will retail for $66.
