Last year saw a flurry of reports that indicated xiaomi is building a laptop that will directly compete with the MacBook pro. In this quest to build the ultimate laptop for a cut-throat price, xiaomi has approached Samsung for the parts such as display units, RAM, SSD and other components. Samsung on its part has reportedly responded in a favorable manner.
Now xiaomi has an indicated that it will show us this low-cost laptop with specifications surpassing the MacBook pro on July 27th. But that’s not the end of the news. The latest reports show that the Chinese company could release not one, but two laptops on the launch day.
The first one is a high-end gaming machine that will have the sixth generation core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD for a price point of around $1000. The second one is a modest offering. It will have a 1080p screen with 13.3 inches’ size while the first is at 15.4 inches. Core i5 processor will power the device along with 256 GB of SSD and 8GB of ultra-fast RAM.
That is one impressive machine which will hit the stores with a premium aluminum body and a price tag of $600.
Xiaomi has always taken inspiration from Apple for its products and there is no reason why this mi notebook should not be identical to the mac lineup of portable PCs.
It was also believed that to cut the corners, this laptop will come with Linux instead of windows 10 but leaked specification has a windows 10 name in it.
