Most of the countries do not have access to 4G networks yet the 5G network has arrived. Verizon has announced that it is partnering with the Korean conglomerate, Samsung, to bring the 5G network into the reality.

Till now, the 5G wireless network has been a theoretical lab experiment. But Samsung has initiated the efforts to bring the Gigabyte Wireless Network into the real world and it has partnered with various tech companies around the world to field test this network in the real world conditions.

The 5G network is famous for…. well, you guessed that right, its download speeds. 4G LTE has been in use for a long time in developed countries. But the new 5G wireless connection claims to increase the 4G speed by about 100 times. That’s mind boggling considering the fact that you will have the ability to stream 4k videos directly onto your device or download a full-length full HD movie in less than 10 seconds.

“Verizon continues to accelerate innovation around 5G technology by working closely with our partners. We were the first to launch 4G nationwide. With this technology, we will again drive innovation across the technology landscape to bring new solutions to market for our customers. Our field technical trials are proving that 5G is here and ready to be commercialized, and we’ve constructed several test beds that represent real-world environments.”-Ed Chan, Senior Vice President, Technology Strategy & Planning, Verizon.

But for such a technology to mature, real-world testing is most important to gauge the factor inhibiting its deployment. For this exact purpose, Samsung is conducting the tests inside a closed construction, like a home, and inside a moving vehicle. It is trying to live stream 360-degree 4k video using next generation connectivity equipment.

This technology will be available in limited areas and only for commercial purpose in 2017. Expect it to available for common users is 2018-2019 when 5G phones will be the norm.
