The third quarter is the most exciting part of the year as we see a bunch of new flagships from Google, Apple, and Samsung. This time around the stakes are higher than ever. Apple is set to introduce its iPhone 7 in September and Samsung, Note 7 in august.

So how do the phones compared to each other based on the leaks?

First of all, Things are not looking good for Apple. The leaks have pointed out minimalistic changes made for the next iPhone phablet. The only noticeable changes are the usual upgraded SoC, a bigger battery and controversial removal of the headphone jack. The major innovations have been saved for the 2017 iPhone that will mark the 10th anniversary for the world’s most popular smartphone.

On the other side, Samsung has never been more innovative. It churned out a winner in the form of the S7 Edge and intends to build upon the design. The Note 7 will have a dual Edge design by default and the s-pen capabilities, as you know them, are legendary. But that isn’t the end of it. Samsung might put in a battery as big as 4000mAh for the first time in the Note series and there is also speculation of 6 GB of RAM.

Like the iPhone pro, the Note 7 could come in a 256 GB variant but the exception is that there is the ability to add a memory card bring in the total potential space to 512GB in the Note 7.

Samsung is also preparing a new Gear VR headset for the Note 7 and as we know it, the virtual reality is practically absent in the Apple ecosystem.

The iris scanner in the Note 7 isn’t helping Apple’s iPhone either. Until and unless Apple has a trick up its sleeves, Note 7 is going to trump the iPhone 7 pro.
