Along with the big announcement of Galaxy and Galaxy S6 Edge at the UNPACKED 2015 event in Barcelona, Samsung announced it’s next bit step to compete with Apple Pay and Google Wallet.
Samsung Pay is the brand new service which the company claims will solve all your mobile payment problems. The new service works with NFC (like Apple Pay and Google Wallet), but it also has a new technology called Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST). Samsung acquired this new technology when they bought LoopPay some week ago.
MST is an innovative technology as it works with older magnetic card readers. So retailers do not need to invest in new solutions.
Samsung already partnered with VISA and MasterCard to roll out this new service as soon as possible. Report suggests if things work fine, you can use your Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge for mobile payment during this Summer.
Samsung is targeting US and South Korea for the first roll out, but the company promises it’ll launch in Europe, China, and other regions shortly after.
