Last month saw a wild rumor of a method that Samsung has invented which will re-imagine the notification light. It was in the form of a glow ring around the camera lens in the back that glows in different colors for a different type of notification. For example, it would glow red for a missed calls and green for message and email notification. This was a different method when compared to the traditional LED above the display but I doubt its effectiveness in the real world. Well, that idea which Samsung has patented apparently made an appearance on a phone that is called as Galaxy J2 2016 edition.
If you see the image closely, then there is a bump on the back of the phone that raises the phones slightly when placed on a table top. if the phone receives a notification, the glow ring on the back glows up and the light escapes from the back forming an aura around the entire device so that you can spot from a distance that there is an update waiting to be seen on the phone. If you receive multiple notifications, then you can set the preferences.
I am a bit curious that Samsung decided to introduce this feature in a low-end J2 instead of the upcoming Note 7 or a premium phone in the Galaxy A series. But if you have seen the past, then there is a pattern where Samsung tests a feature in a smaller device before going in for the kill. The Korean giant introduced an inexpensive tablet in India which has the ability to scan the retina of the eye. This feature is also speculated to be included in the Note 7.
the ring also assists in taking the perfect selfie when using the back camera that is more powerful by lighting up when your face is in focus.
