If you are thinking of buying an Android phone, security experts are advising to buy only the phones from Samsung or google after their latest findings. The reason: these people have conducted a huge security test operation of every Android phone possible and most of the phones have failed the test. In fact, as many and 57% of the total Android phones are in a state of critical danger enabling the hackers and other snooping agents to feast on your personal data.
Google knows this and has rolled out security patches every month. but due to the fragmentation issue, it is very difficult to patch the phone in a timely fashion since the carriers and the developing company do not have the resources to roll out them every month leaving millions of phones critically vulnerable. Some problems are so endangering that the hackers were able to lift information off a phone that has a disk which was fully encrypted.
“[We] find the only Android devices that we can recommend without major reservations are Nexus and, now, Samsung devices, provided they keep releasing those security updates quickly.” A report said.
Gal Beniamini, a security expert, and member of Qualcomm’s Product Security Hall of Fame has suggested that people who are looking to buy an Android phone should look towards Samsung or google. Strictly from the security point of view, these are the most secure phones out there.
“hackers can break through the levels of trust and privileges that are intended to ensure only legitimate code can access secret material, such as DRM or disk encryption keys.” He added
“If your manufacturer has not yet made patches available, put some pressure on them to do so. As always, we find the only Android devices that we can recommend without major reservations are Nexus and, now, Samsung devices, provided they keep releasing those security updates quickly.”
