A host of telecom operators have imposed a ban on Samsung smartphones last year when the largest carrier in the country, Mobile TeleSystems PJSC, made an unnerving deal with Samsung where it acquired large quantities of smartphone at huge discounted rates and sold them at prices that could not be matched by other carriers such as VimpelCom and MegaFon.

As a result of this event, telecoms have decided to ban Samsung smartphones after the company followed unfair trade practices. But as fortune would have it, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that were released in march of this year proved to be so popular that the carriers are forced to sell the phones else risk losing their customers.

We can now confirm that VimpelCom is ending its boycott of Samsung smartphones as it once again prepares to sell the popular S-Series of Galaxy smartphones. It has already ordered large quantities of smartphones from Samsung and MegaFon also announced that it is currently in talks with Samsung representative and will begin to sell the Galaxy smartphones soon.

With this turn of event, Samsung is expected to sell a record-breaking smartphones in Russia. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will no doubt be gobbled up by the Russian smartphone users, but the upcoming Note 7 will also be on the wish list of many.

Mobile TeleSystems PJSC has been exclusively selling Samsung phones for the past year but with the entry of other carriers, their market share is poised to be reduced. But the loss will be insignificant as it still orders large quantities of smartphones from Samsung at a reduced price that still cannot be matched by other players
