Not many people know but Samsung also makes its own silicon chips in the form of Exynos SoC. They are traditionally used in all Galaxy smartphones such as the Note series and S-Series of Galaxy smartphone in regions like Europe and India. When the Snapdragon 810 SoC. was plagued by overheating issues, Samsung turned towards its own Exynos 7420 octa-core SoC for the Galaxy S6.
But Samsung is now believed to have created a super chip that has a peak clock speed of 4.0 GHz. This is unheard of in mobile space. Even the upcoming Snapdragon 830 has a top clock speed of 3.6 GHz. This SoC. will be called as Exynos 8895 and it is built using the 10nm finfet process that cramps more transistors in less space and also results in better power efficiency. When compared to the Exynos 8890, the 8895 increases the processing power by 30%.
The best part is that the processor will be able to run a 4k video without breaking a sweat and can record a UHD video without any stuttering. Samsung is also reportedly conducting various tests for thermal efficiency in case the processor overheats while performing heavy tasks and the results so far have been encouraging.
This Exynos 8895 is rumored to make its debut in the Galaxy S8 that will come with a 4k screen which will be perfect for the Gear VR and virtual world experience.
