Samsung has yet again announced the results of the last quarter that reeled below the analyst expectations. But that didn’t stop it from rewarding all the employees who work extremely hard in keeping the mobile “division running”.
Samsung has an internal rule where the maximum bonus that the employees can earn tops at 50% of their salary figure. Not every Samsung employee earned the 50% bonus. Only the people working at Samsung mobile were entitled to such high bonuses along with the booming semiconductor division’s employees.
Other members of Samsung family were not as fortunate as the mobile division.
Samsung’s consumer electronics division employees are being awarded a 10% bonus, network business employees get a 20% bonus and Samsung TV staff will receive 21% bonuses. Three more divisions – digital media research lab, technology centre and software centre – are all picking up a 45% bonus.
“Samsung will try to motivate workers through proper compensation. The decision for maximum bonuses to mobile staff includes the company management’s hopes to proceed on their given mission under new leadership.” Samsung announced.
Despite immense pressure from other smartphone vendors, Samsung mobile held its market share and registered a slight profit growth. Samsung thinks that its mobile division did exceedingly well. if they did not work so hard, things could have been much worse.
