Not all cars are connecting to the web. most of the cars on road are generally outdated and bringing them online could be a herculean task. Not anymore. Samsung has built a new dongle device that plugs into your car and also has smart features built into it. Samsung calls this device as the Samsung Connect Auto.
This device plugs into your car’s OBD II diagnostic port. If you don’t know what that means, know that cars as old as 2 decades have that port and your car probably has one. you just need to find it.
This Connect Auto Dongle adds the LTE connectivity to your car and will enable the occupants to access the web (it also acts a Wi-Fi hotspot). Other features such as car monitoring, performance monitoring and locations services (Find My Car feature) are available with this device. on the whole, this Connect Auto Dongle wants to make your car, a super car.
The operating system running on this devices is the Tizen OS and will be on sale from the second quarter of this year. AT&T has announced that it will sell the device along with the data plans and LTE connection via its network.
The pricing of the device or the data plans is not yet available.
