President Park Geun-hye reportedly allowed long-time confidante Choi Soon-sil to exploit their friendship for financial gain. Allegedly, Samsung has donated $3.1 million to a company that was co-owned by Choi Soon-sil, who was arrested on November 3rd, as well as her daughter.
This investigation is another weight on Samsung’s shoulders, following the Note 7 disaster, worldwide recall of a washing machine and huge drop in profits.
