Nearly everyone knows that Samsung has been working on a round faced smartwatch for the past few months. This smartwatch was codenamed as Orbis but now Samsung is expected to call it Gear A.
This new Samsung smartwatch is said to be an Apple Watch competitor and had been expected to be launched at the Mobile World Congress in March along with the Galaxy S6.
However we never saw this launch and it is because Samsung wants more time in perfecting the smart watch even if it has to delay the launch.
Apart from this the South Korean giant has also never given a time frame for the Gear A but according to sources Samsung will now launch the Gear A in the second half of the year.
It seems as though the company wants to launch the Gear A alongside the Galaxy Note 5 at this year’s IFA which will be held in September. Samsung has planned to launch the Gear A in two variants.
One of these variants will be with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity while the other one will be a standard Bluetooth enabled smartwatch.
Moreover the Gear A will also have a new UI for scrolling through recent apps, going through notifications and widgets.
The rotating bezel will be another feature on this device and this will help the users in navigating through the menu.
It is quite possible that Samsung might want to pull the wraps from the Samsung Gear A alongside the Galaxy Note 5 at this year‘s IFA, which will be held in September.
The Gear A is expected to be launched in two variants, one with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, while the another one will be a standard Bluetooth-enabled smartwatch.
The Gear A will have a new UI for scrolling through recent apps, going through widgets, notifications among others.
The rotating bezel will be another highlight of the device and this feature will help users navigate through the menu.
That being said, the reports are not concrete and we wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung unveils the smartwatch earlier.
