The first all metal phone from Samsung was the A7 which was a good device but wasn’t different from others in the same category. Recently Samsung put forward its successor called as galaxy A8 with the same all metal design. It would not be unfair to say that the galaxy A8 is the most beautiful smartphone from Samsung, more attractive that the note 5 and the galaxy S6.
The galaxy A8 removes the expandable storage and replaceable battery in its quest for perfect design. Do not get me wrong, it is still very much a Samsung device from the first glance. It may not win the specs war with its powerful siblings but there are some subtle design changes that make the phone look very pretty.
The galaxy A8 is also the Samsung’s thinnest phone up to date with a thickness of 5.8mm. The display is the good old 1080p super amoled, which measures at 5.7 inch, is quiet brilliant in various condition. The screen should be able to handle pretty much anything you throw at it. The heart of the device is the QUALCOMM made snapdragon 615 quad core chip which is a pretty powerful CPU that can handle gaming and graphic intensive apps alike. Coupled with the adreno 405 is the 2 GB ram which is disappointing but the performance was snappy. It comes in 16/32/128 GB options, since it doesn’t have any expandable storage, the 32 GB option would be a wise choice.
The fingerprint sensor make an appearance and it seems to work much better than the one found in the note 4. The phone is one of the thinnest in the market but that didn’t stop Samsung from packing a huge battery that measures at 3050 which can power the galaxy A8 all day. In the standby mode, the phone only lost about 3 percent battery overnight indicating that Samsung has done some good optimization. The rear camera is a 16 MP like the one in s6 but it isn’t that good. The ois isn’t there and the tech used is the iso cell. The aperture is similar though at f1.9 making the photos look great. The front camera is a 5mp snapper with wide angle lens to capture great selfies. It runs on android 5.1.1 with touch wiz on top.
