Recent rumors about the upcoming Galaxy S8 suggest that it will cost Samsung more money to produce it than any other phone.
There are many reasons why the phone price might go up. According to the Chinese site Weibo, the main one is the new 256GB storage chip.
The next year’s flagship phone may be the first widely available smartphone that Samsung created with such a storage option. With this Samsung goes up toe-to-toe with Apple’s new iPhone7 storage bash.
Compared to the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S8 will be 28 percent more expensive to make. The galaxy S7’s price to produce Is around $255, so the new flagship will be around $70 more. Despite of all this, Samsung keeps saying that the device pricing will remain stable.
Considering the recent Note 7 crisis, the risk for making the phone’s price higher will be a problem for Samsung to keep the customers happy.
