Android 5.1 Update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Brings Advanced Camera Features

As we all know, the latest Android 5.1 OS has been released on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. This update is only available for the T-Mobile versions of the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge, in the United States.

Earlier this month, we heard the rumors that the Android 5.1 is going to integrate a RAW shooting mode and a lower ISO mode for capturing images. Moreover, it was also rumored that the 5.1 update was going to feature shutter speed option. However, when the official 5.1 update was released a few days earlier, these features could not be found on the stock camera app.

Recently, we have been reported that these rumors turned out to be true, and these advanced features are present in the 5.1 OS, but are not integrated in the stock camera app as of yet. For getting these features, users need to install a third-party camera application, having full support for the Lollipop’s Camera2 API.

The latest 5.1.1 update offers an even lower ISO value of 50, which is quite rare on the modern digital cameras, too. Moreover, it also gives you control over the shutter speed, and enables you to shoot photos and videos in RAW mode.

Samsung has not integrated these features in their stock camera app due to some maintenance purposes, but it will be included soon with the next update. Currently, there are very few phones which offer these advanced camera features, such as, HTC One M9 and the LG G4, etc.
