Samsung isn’t worried about any backlash from the users and it is taking its time to take out its updates for their smart phones. Android 5.0 has been out for some time now and it didn’t give any deadlines as to its users so that they would make the updates within the marked time.
They want to make stable builds for their smart phones and that is why they are taking their time. So we are observing that Samsung phones are receiving updates very slowly. The first smartphone to receive the Lollipop update was the Samsung Galaxy S5.
Many Galaxy Note Edge users are still waiting for an Android Lollipop update. If the Note Edge users can’t wait for the update then we would like to tell them there is a beta build available but you would need to reboot your phone.
The people at the XDA have been successful in making a build for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and you can get the ROM which is based on Android 5.0.1 from here. TouchWiz is embedded in this build. This leaked build is indeed an official pre-release build but it is not for public consumption so flashing your ROM is not going to void your warranty or trip the Knox counter.
One thing the users would want to know is that this build is compatible with SM-N915FY and SM-N915F versions of Galaxy Note Edge. If you don’t have a phone with the same version then it is advisable to not go through the process.
And people would need to keep this thing in mind that this is a beta build so it might have some problems. So people that know their way around smartphones and have installed custom ROMS before should be the ones taking the risk to install the Android Lollipop update. Before you flash your ROM make sure to back up your data.
