Well, Sony was the first mobile manufacturer to fuse their phone with a 4k display producing a stunning xperia z5 premium with more than 800 ppi. Leaks point out that Samsung is reportedly considering a 4k display for its galaxy s7.
Well let’s get this straight. A 4k screen is as useful as buying a hair spray when you have no hair. 4k TV’S are considered a marketing gimmick from the manufactures as the increases in resolution doesn’t necessarily guarantee a better picture without 4k content and mind you, 4k content is hard to come by. So on the mobile front, 4k screen on a 5.2-inch phone will make a staggering 900 ppi. The naked eye cannot differentiate if the ppi is more than 400. Such huge resolution wouldn’t be beneficial to the consumer and will be an extra load on the battery life and processor.
I would like Samsung to stick with the 2k screen that is big and beautiful in reproducing the colours. It created a mesmerizing viewing experience on the note 5 and the galaxy s6.
In the other news, Samsung is said to bump up the camera spec to 20mp from the usual 16 MP in the galaxy s7. Accompanying it is the dual camera setup. The secondary camera will function as the depth sensor and will be a Huge benefit for photographers who like to take raw images and retouch them to their liking. The 20 MP isocell camera will be accompanied by a 5 MP or an 8 MP front facing camera that will have the ability to take the wide angle shots.
The usual top of the line processor with 4 GB ram will be made available making the galaxy s7 as smooth as the note 5. Galaxy s7 will also have the 3d touch that iPhone boast of and will launch in the month of January.
