Samsung is leaving no stone to become world’s most influential consumer electronics company and to gain most of the market share it spent a huge sum of money on advertisements and promotions. According to latest report Samsung marketing budget stands at $14 billion for the year 2013 only. That is roughly 5.4% of Samsung’s revenue.

If you are thinking how much is $14 billion, it is more than the entire GDP of countries like Iceland and Norway.

When compared to Samsung, Apple spent 0.6 % of their revenue on marketing and promoting their products. In 2012 Samsung spent $4 billion on marketing and this year they spent more than three times of that. Definitely Samsung gained a lot of market share but does big marketing campaigns mean more sales. We need to wait till Samsung will announce their yearly balance sheet.
