Samsung just started rolling out Android 4.3 for Galaxy S4 LTE variant (GT-I9505). Android 4.3 update will add many new features and along with tons of bug fixes. But it looks like there won’t be much changes in look and feel of the user interface.
Samsung promised in Mobile UNPACKED 2 event that it will start updating existing Galaxy S4 devices to Android 4.3 during October, and in fact Samsung is keeping it promise. Although Samsung does not have the best track record in providing software updates on time but it is the only OEM which provides latest version of Android on older devices even after the regular 18 months update cycle.
As this update is only for international version, US users need to wait a bit longer to get this update. But it should not be quite long.
Here are some of the new features and improvements you will get with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates.
- OpenGL 3.0 Support
- GALAXY GEAR Support
- TRIM Support (Makes the device much faster)
- ANT+ Support
- Samsung KNOX Implementation (KNOX bootloader and dedicated application)
- Samsung Wallet comes pre-loaded
- Improved RAM management
- Improved Display colour reproduction (Display looks much sharper than before)
- Improved TouchWiz Launcher (Much less launcher redraws and less lag)
- New Samsung Keyboard
- New Samsung Browser (Full screen by default, new tab interface and more)
- New Reading Mode (Optimises display for reading, used by only a few specific applications)
- New Camera firmware
- Minor UI tweaks (Contacts app, Flashlight Widget, dialog boxes etc)
