Samsung will be one of the manufacturers that will produce Apple’s next generation A8 chipset. A8 will be used in Apple’s future iPhone and other mobile devices.
In past Apple tried hard to distant itself from Samsung after the two tech giants sued each other in number of patent disputes across the globe. But it looks like Apple ultimately selected Samsung as one of its chipset manufacturing partner along with TMC for A8 processors.
With this deal Samsung will produce 30-40 percent of all A8 chipset and TMC will produce reset 60-70 percent. Along with A8 chips Samsung is reportedly made a business contract to produce A9 chipsets in 2015. Samsung is also the manufacturer of A7 chipset which powers recently released Apple iPhone 5S smartphone.
