Nearly all of us have been anxiously waiting for a circular smartwatch from Samsung for quite a long time now. Samsung has codenamed it Project Orbis which is basically the Gear A smartwatch.
This smartwatch will run a version of Tizen platform and is also expected to be officially announced by Samsung either at the 13th August event or during the IFA 2015.
Now keeping the Gear A aside there is more information about multiple variants of the Gear A.
The new information that we have received tells us that there are three different variants of the Galaxy A smartwatch and all of them have the word ‘Orbis’ in their codenames.
These variants are known as Orbis-1, Orbis-2 and Orbis Classic. It looks as if the South Korean giant is trying to copy Apple as Apple had also launched multiple variants of its smartwatch.
Samsung may launch multiple variants of the Gear A with differences in connectivity options and even style.
Samsung has also revealed some details about its upcoming Gear smartwatch which is said to have a rotating bezel for navigation and some launch partners.
Samsung has not only released the SDK for developers but has also started to test its mobile payment service, Samsung Pay, through its upcoming smartwatch.
The Gear A smartphone is said to feature a circular Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels and an Exynos 3472 processor.
Along with this the Gear A will have 768 MB of RAM with 4GB of internal storage. Coming to the connectivity side the smartwatch will have Bluetooth v4.1, cellular connectivity, NFC, Wi-Fi b/g/n and a heart rate sensor.
