As the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have been launched its time for finding details about the upcoming Samsung smartphones this year.
The next smartphone in line is the Galaxy Note 5 which is the successor to the Galaxy Note Edge. Apart from this sources claim that this time the South Korean giant will only release one variant of the Galaxy Note 5 unlike last year.
The Galaxy Note 5 could be featured with a 2K or a 4K flat screen Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 7422 processor and Samsung’s very own modem.
Moreover the Exynos 7422 is expected to be the company’s first ever all in one solution (ePoP) as it will combine the CPU, GPU, RAM, modem and storage on a single chip.
Sources also claim that Samsung is testing some Galaxy Note 5 units with a new Exynos 7430 chipset. However this chip is just for checking purposes and the company has no plans to release it for the consumers.
Moreover the company is also working on different prototypes, some with a 2K display and some with a 4K display but it still remains undecided which of the two will be included in the final version of the device.
Now coming to the device that will be replacing the Galaxy Note Edge, it has been codenamed Project Zen internally and it will not be just a curved screen variant of the Galaxy Note 5.
The device is aid to feature a 5.4 inch Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display, a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 16GB storage, a 16 megapixel primary camera with OIS and an 8 megapixel front facing camera.
Well it is still possible that many of these features can be changed as the devices are still under development.
