Samsung today launched a new version of it’s Chromebook 2 with Intel processor. Samsung already selling Chromebook 2 with it’s home grown Exynos ARM chips. Chromebook 2 is powered by Google Chrome OS, which is good for day to day computing.
The new Chromebook will cost just $250 which is very competitive and this will definitely give some real challenge to entry level Windows notebooks.
The new 11.6 inch Chromebook 2 will have a fanless Celeron N2840 chipset that can run at up to 2.58GHz. Samsung puts a 2GB RAM and 16 GB memory. As these devices are just used for web browsing and casual computing, there should not be any problem.
Samsung is using the same faus-leather finish which we have seen before on Chromebooks and on Galaxy Note 3. This thing has some admirers and haters.
The display runs at 1366 x 768 resolution, which is quite low as today’s most of the devices run on 1080p. But still this is a cheap device, so no one should complain too much. You will get a 720p camera on the front for video chatting.
Samsung will start shipping the new Chromebook 2 from October 20th, which is just 3 days away.
