India is an important market for Samsung. This maybe the single country where Samsung is still the king of smartphone when the sales are compared. India isn’t a mature market like the united states or the Chinese market but that hasn’t stopped Samsung from bringing the Gear S2 smartwatch and the Gear VR headset to the sub-continent.

First up is the Gear S2 smartwatch. Samsung opted for a radically different design for the Gear S2 when compared to the original Gear S. this one features a round design similar to the moto 360. The Korean tech giant also included some intuitive features such as the rotating bezel that will help you in selecting the apps and navigating the interface.

There are 3 different variant that Samsung will bring into the country. The Gear S2 with the silicon band and 250mah battery will be the base model. There is also a 3g variant that has a sim card slot and can act as a stand-alone device without having to be paired with a smartphone. the Gear S2 classic is more timeless with bigger battery and leather straps that are truly classical. There is no 3g variant for the Gear S2 classic. All these smartwatches run on tizen os instead of android wear.

The specs are as follows

Next up is the virtual reality headset, the Gear VR. Samsung launched the Gear VR a couple of month back and the product was fairly successful owing to the fact that it is priced at $99 instead of $199. The Gear VR headset is compatible with the galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and the note 5. It also features accelerator, proximity and gyro sensor to make the VR experience better with motion detection and realistic virtual surroundings.

Samsung is also launching several apps and games along with the Gear VR. When launched, you will be able to use the apps and services such as Twitch, TiVo, Netflix, Lionsgate, Hulu and gaming titles such as Minecraft.

The pricing is unavailable but the Gear S2 and Gear VR launch in new Delhi on Jan 21st.
