Week by week news from Samsung were flying about the development of Android 7.0 Nougat for its devices. First it was confirmed for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge when the Galaxy Beta Program was released. This gave everyone a chance to get try the beta firmware. Next in line were the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, and now Samsung has also confirmed that they also started Nougat development for the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2.
This suggests that Samsung realized that they were leaving their devices without updates for long enough. Now they are picking up the pace, but just because development started, that doesn’t mean that the firmware is going to be released soon. It is more likely that it will take Samsung a couple of months to get the update ready for the Note 5 and Tab S2.
First in line to get the Nougat update are the S7 series phones and the update may not make it before 2017 the release dates are not even confirmed yet.
